ABOUT US
Located approximately 15 miles southeast of Nashville, The Governors Club is the premier private golf club community in Middle Tennessee. Our 600 acre community is comprised of 425 custom home sites surrounding an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Championship Golf Course nestled among Tennessee's hills. We are one of the select gated and staffed communities in Brentwood, Tennessee with unparalleled views of rolling fairways, manicured greens, beautiful stonework, waterfalls and fountains, natural tree lines, creeks, and lakes. Arranged throughout the community are several upgraded amenities for the active lifestyles of our residents. All who enter our gates get an immediate sense of history and modern-day relaxation. Welcome to The Governors Club. Our History Colonel John Winstead and his family first took possession of this rich farmland in 1799. For the next two centuries, it remained the home of their descendants. Winstead Sr. built the two-story log home, which they lived in until 1854. John M. Winstead II constructed the elegant southern mansion known today as Pleasant Hill Mansion. The homesteads remained in the family until 1997 when the land and homes were purchased for The Governors Club's development. Construction of the community's new homes, Clubhouse, amenities, and golf course began in 1999. Current residents are now the caretakers of this beautiful estate. The historic mansion and rustic cabins continue to be the heart of our community and serve as important landmarks on our signature golf course.
